NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES
DOYLESTOWN COUNTY AIRPORT (DYL)

The Doylestown Pilots Association, as part of their "Fly Friendly" program, has established the following noise abatement procedures:

Departing Runway 5:

  • Follow runway heading to 1,200 feet prior to making any turns.

Departing Runway 23:

  • As soon as practicable after liftoff, turn right to 250 degrees.
  • Follow 250 degrees to intercept the Route 611 Bypass.
  • Turn left to follow the Bypass and climb to 1,200 feet prior to making any turns.

General Departing Suggestions:

  • Chose Flap Settings and Airspeed that will allow you the highest possible altitude before reaching the end of the runway.
  • For pilots with a constant speed propeller: If you make a power reduction after takeoff, consult the aircraft's POH for allowable manifold pressures and propeller rpm setting. After reaching a safe altitude, transition to a cruise climb to reduce the duration of the over-flight.

Note: Remember, as PIC, you are solely responsible for your safety and the safety of your passengers.  These noise abatement procedures are guidelines that are appropriate for most aircraft.  Always make sure you are operating within the safety envelope of your airplane.
