Ranger Staff Training

I am pleased to announce that the grounding has been lifted, and we have been reinstated for training and operational missions.

Thinking about becoming a member of Ranger Staff?

Check out the Staff Cadets page for more information on the Staff Training Program.

You may even come to the Staff Training program just for the opportunity to train and earn Ranger Grade…with no intention of actually becoming a Staff member! That’s okay too because we know that they are well trained mission ready individuals wherever they go from here.

Congratulations to Squadron 302, winners of the 2007 Ranger Team Competition.  The competition was extremely close this year, and all teams did exceptionally well.  Squadrons 101, 811 and 714 also competed, placing within a margin of only a few percent difference in their scores.

1st Lt Bonner and the staff did a great job of planning the events, making some changes to make the competition comprehensive in all aspects of search and rescue.

A team of some of Hawk Mountain's most experienced Rangers, consisting of Maj Amy Fierro, Lt Col Jeff Riley, Capt Mark Kleibscheidel, 1st Lt Elizabeth Wirth, Lt Col Joe Abegg, Maj Bryan Watson, and Lt Col Laurie Watson traveled to Canada to compete in an international Search and Rescue competition and to attend a conference afterward.  They performed extremely well in all categories of the competition.

The Ranger Creed

It is my duty as a member of the Rangers of the Civil Air Patrol ground search and rescue service, to save lives, aid the injured, and protect their property.

In order to do this, I will keep myself physically fit at all times.

I will be prepared at all times to perform my assigned duties quickly and efficiently, placing these duties before my personal desires and comfort.

These things I do that others may live...

Col Phillip Neuweiler, Hawk Mountain Ranger Program Founder and Former PAWG Commander
