HAWK MOUNTAIN EVASION CHART, Version 1. The Hawk Mountain Evasion Chart (HMEVC-1) is a unique map designed not only for navigation within the vicinity of the Col Phillip Neuweiler Ranger Training Facility, but as a useful survival tool. The map is printed on synthetic paper, so it will not rot, and it is water proof and highly tear resistant. This material can also resist temperatures from -65F to +165F. Also, humidity has no effect on this material, unlike paper maps that become soft and mushy in humid conditions. This map features a variety of information. This information includes: Survival Tactics Water Procurement 39 edible and poisonous plants, with descriptions Poisonous insects and snakes with descriptions Celestial and survival navigation Emergency shelters Air-to-ground Signals Fire building The map itself is gridded in 1000 meter UTM format, with Lat/Long in 2.5' sections and is projected in NAD27. Coordinates can be read from the map, and plotted directly onto local 1:24,000 USGS topographic maps without the need for Datum conversions.. This map is color elevation shaded, with hill shading to emable a three dimensional effect. Various trails have been located with a Global Positioning System for accuracy and currency.
Maps can be purchased for $20 each, plus shipping. If you would like purchase a large number of maps (25 or more), please inquire about a bulk discount. All proceeds from purchases go towards the Hawk Mountain Ranger School.
